
A crash occurred on September 22, 2019, around 3 pm on the I-49 near the 170.8 mile marker in Raymore, Missouri. It was a two-car crash between Jairo Cabrera-Pineda, a 34-year-old male from Springdale, Arizona, and Candace Marlin, a 70-year-old female from Williamsburg, Iowa.
Both vehicles were driving northbound on Interstate 49 when the collision took place.
The crash happened when Marlin slowed down her vehicle as a result of inclement weather, and she was rear-ended by Cabrera-Pineda. Three people were injured in the crash, one of them being Candace Marlin, who had moderate injuries.
Two passengers from Cabrera-Pineda’s car were injured as well.
Alberto Kenton, a 44-year-old male, suffered moderate injuries. Ruvia Licona, a 30-year-old female, suffered moderate injuries as well. All three injured people were taken by ambulance to Belton Regional Medical Center by the South Metro Fire District.
Cabrera-Pineda was driving a 2005 Nissan that had extensive vehicle damage and needed to be towed from the accident scene. Marlin was driving a 2003 GMC that had moderate damage but was able to be driven from the scene of the accident.
